Spirit Binder Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

The short version

Spirit Binder has no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising, and we keep no database of players. Your saves and settings are files on your own device.

The game sends data off your device in four cases:

  • On Android, an anonymous online account. When the app starts it signs you in to Unity Gaming Services with an account that has no name, email or password. You can delete it at any time. See Deleting your online account.
  • When you play online, your player name and your moves go to the other players in the room, through Unity’s or Steam’s servers. See Online play.
  • When you buy the full unlock on Android, Google Play handles the payment. See Purchases.
  • When you press Report bug and then Send. See Reporting a bug.

What the game stores on your device

These stay on your device. They are never transmitted to us unless you send a bug report, which includes the save file and part of the log (see below).

What Why
Language, volume, screen and camera settings So the game starts the way you left it
The piece skin you picked for each exorcist So your choice is kept between games
The current game (game.sav): table rules, the random seed and every move made so far So Continue can pick the game up where you stopped
Whether you bought the full unlock So your paths stay unlocked without a connection
A log file of the current and previous session For troubleshooting; see Reporting a bug

On Android, Save log in the Report bug panel copies the log to your Downloads folder and opens the share sheet; where it goes from there is your choice. Uninstalling the game removes everything else. On Windows, the files are under AppData/LocalLow/NAMEMYZ/Spirit Binder.

Your online account (Android)

On Android the game signs you in to Unity Gaming Services (UGS) when it starts, using an anonymous account created for this device. It is used to give you a random player name (like “BraveOwl”) and to connect you to online rooms. It holds no name you typed, no email address, no password and no phone number, and you are never asked for one.

Unity processes this account under the Unity privacy policy. The Windows version does not create this account when you play through Steam; it uses your Steam account instead.

Deleting your online account

In the game: open Settings, pick the Game tab, press Delete next to Delete online account, then press it again to confirm. The account is deleted on Unity’s servers straight away. The next time the app needs one it creates a new anonymous account that has no connection to the old one.

By email: if you have uninstalled the game, write to support@namemyz.com with the subject Delete my Spirit Binder account and include your Online account ID (shown in the same place in Settings; tapping it copies it). Without it we cannot tell your anonymous account apart from anyone else’s. We reply within 30 days.

Deleting the account does not delete your saves or settings (they are on your device) and does not remove your purchase: the full unlock belongs to your Google account, and Restore purchase brings it back.

Online play

When you create or join an online room, the other players in that room receive:

  • your player name: your Steam name on Windows with Steam, or the random UGS name on Android
  • the exorcist you pick and every move you make, so that every device can play the same game

On Android (and on Windows without Steam) this traffic passes through Unity Relay; on Windows with Steam it passes through Steam’s networking, operated by Valve under its own privacy policy. There is no chat. Nothing about the game is stored on our side, and Unity and Valve relay the traffic without keeping the game.

Purchases

On Android, Unlock full game is a one-time purchase through Google Play. Google handles the payment and we never see your card or payment details. The game checks Google’s signed receipt on your device and remembers that you bought it; we run no purchase server.

Reporting a bug

Settings has a Report bug button. It opens a text box; nothing is sent until you type something and press Send. The panel says what will be sent, next to the Send button.

A report contains:

  • the text you typed
  • the game version, your operating system and its version, and the game’s language
  • the last 200 lines of the log file: it records things like your graphics card and screen; on Windows its file paths contain your computer’s account name, and on Android it contains your online account ID and the code of any online room you were in
  • the current save file, if there is one: the table rules, the random seed and the moves of the game in progress, so we can replay exactly what happened

The report goes to our server at namemyz.com, which turns it into a ticket in our bug tracker on GitHub, in a private repository only we can read, and sends us a copy by email through Resend. To stop anyone flooding the tracker, the server counts reports per connection over one minute; that counter is not a record of you and is not retained.

If you want a report deleted, email us with the ticket number the game showed you (“Sent #12”) and we will delete it.

Children

Spirit Binder is not directed at children and collects nothing about age.

Your rights

We hold nothing about you except bug reports you chose to send. Your online account is held by Unity and you can delete it yourself as described above. If you want a report removed, or have any question about your data, contact us and we will answer.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
